The power of B Corp

Our Journey to B Corp Certification: Transforming Business for a Better World

At Probity, we've always believed in the power of business to create positive change in the world. Since the inception of our company we’ve been on a mission to become a B Corp, a business organization that prioritizes the good of all stakeholders, not just shareholders. If you want to learn more about the definition of a B Corporation you can read more about them on our What is a B Corporation blog.

Becoming a B Corp is not a small feat, and it requires companies to demonstrate a high level of social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and a legal structure that holds them accountable to all stakeholders.

We're proud to say that Probity is now eligible to apply, and we've taken the first step by starting to fill out the B Corp Impact Assessment (BIA). The BIA is a powerful digital tool that measures and improves our positive impact performance in areas such as the environment, communities, customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders.

We were beyond thrilled to be accepted into Decade Impact's "Getting to 80" program, a 3-month workshop that will teach us how to use the BIA to our advantage. After achieving a minimum score of 80 points, we'll enter the Evaluation phase, where an analyst from B Lab Global will review our company structure, practices, and answers to the assessment.

During the Verification phase, we'll provide information about our employees and suppliers, have a review call with an analyst, and provide all necessary documentation to back up our answers to the assessment. This is an important step in ensuring that we're meeting the high standards set by B Corp.

Last but not least, we'll enter the Post-Verification stage, sign the B Corp Agreement, and finally achieve certification! Becoming a B Corp will be a proud moment for Probity, and it will demonstrate our commitment to using business as a force for good in the world.

Follow us on this exciting journey as we work towards becoming a B Corp and learn more about what it means to build value for all stakeholders. We'll be sharing our learnings and experiences along the way, and we hope you'll join us in our mission to create a better world through business.
